OK BUT WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???

This was such a perfect opener to my writing. If you know me--and I mean really know me--then you know that CS is my world/story that I created back as a very traumatised 12 year old that I've spent nearly every day of my life since that 2021 October living in. Since then it's changed and grown with me; from being just a found family crime story to an eternal rebirth cycle ruminating on death, the ethereal, rebirth, and love--that is also a found family crime story. For a creation myth I knew I wanted something lyrical and confusing, dense and full of metaphor that is also truth. I've never been a mythology person, but I really tried to pull from the ones I was raised with--the complex nature of Isis, Horus, and Set's myths that change depending on interpretation. I also wanted everything you need to know for this world to be clear--The Ouroboros, the Gods, the worlds ever changing nature--while also placing cycle references that only me and my wife will know. Wether I'll share other parts of CS is up for me to debate with myself, but whatever. Here's a weird, death focused creation myth that does make sense if you analyse it, but who's actually going to do that other than me?

About  'The "Child"'

I figured I'd start my longer writing showcase with a piece that I love. In retrospect it's sloppy, too blunt, and grossly overwritten, but I have such fond memories of making it and I'm strangely connected to it. This is a very obvious autism metaphor, heavily inspired by 2 of my favourite games--the demon at the end was inspired by Ábramar from Cosmic Wheel, and the setting was inspired by the world of Blasphemous. AlsoafanficIreadwhenIwas12.

It's fairly simple, an autistic adult faces ableist abuse and gets thrown into some grimy catacombs, yada yada, demon appears. It's nothing fancy, I could definitely explore the world/characters more if I wanted, and for the limits I set on the collection I made this for--called Entelechy--, I'm really satisfied with how it turned out.

About W.W.F. (wip)

I had to include this. One of the most praised things I've ever written, even though it was a very much so a beginner effort. This was meant to be a prologue for a prequel to CS 2.0, and in the wake of scrapping 2.0, it's weird looking back at this. It got no further because I honestly didn't care about these characters, but I love this attempt at writing my style now. Naturally, as a first attempt it's pretty bad. I have no idea why the paragraphs are so short, and you'd think I'd never watched a book review with just how flowery these fucking prose are. But fuck it, it was a good shot.

About The Deer

This was the first thing I wrote for Entelechy. Originally I wrote it as both a tie-in and a challenge, the latter being to write a short story that was only 1 word document page long, the former being as a tie-in to my second album, basically exploring more of the songs themes with a giant dash of metaphor. This is a story about CAHMs. I fucking hate them. Also born from my trauma and my love for death, majorly based in the idea I had as I was coming out of my starvation haze that death is a loving caregiver.

About Trans

The name gives it all away honestly. I just wanted at some point in Entelechy to write about being trans, namely the beauty of it, but I also wanted to capture the soul-shattering pain outsiders cause us. Execution is debatable, but I'm happy with it.

About  Demiurge Vore

At this point in Entelechy you can tell I love second person, which made it scary to share these for the first time, but this one especially. It's very sexual, honestly, but it's also based in demisexuality--my first time really trying to write something not connected and based in parts of me or myself--and the want to be understood. I know it's a lot, but it had so much heart poured into it, being grounded in something I was going through personally that you'll never know about because it was just born of feelings, not an easy to pin-point experience. I have a very vivid image of the space this story happened it--also Cosmic Wheel inspired--a giant marble temple floating in space attached to nothing, with giant glass ceilings showing the stars, and a witch surrounded by pillars and candles bringing forth freedom. What can I say, I just love demons and summonings. Also yes I chose the name after listening to a bunch of Sleep Token, shut up and mind your business.

About  Creature Wife

The newest thing I've written, and the most confident I've felt in any of my creative writing. I still haven't narrowed down my style yet but with this one I feel I'm getting closer. I also know it's a little provocative (?) and that's kind of the point. It's a test run at a new world I've been thinking about lately, being my love letter to Grimms fairytales and pastel horror; themes are obvious misogyny, abuse, transformation, and basically parts of my childhood. As a test I'm very impressed with it, so maybe there'll be more from Project Wives Tale soon, but who knows.

About  Baba Yaga

One thing about me is that I fucking love Baba Yaga, and hopefully that showed in this part of Entelechy. It was an attempt at some fluff and folklore that hopefully I pinned down well. The ending is very messy but who cares, it's sweet and simple and hopefully fun; with my favourite part of it being the unending room descriptions inspired by Howls room in Howls Moving Castle. I had a lot of fun researching for this one and that was the highlight of the experience.

About AI, Arcane, and Contrarians

This is the first essay I've ever written--aside from a short one I did for Secondary School--and I'm beyond happy with it. I wrote it absolutely feverishly in 2 hours of dead silence and anger at 1 am. While in the time since writing this in November my opinions on Arcane as a work have changed, the sentiment--and my own passion for the show--remains. At this point the essay is just about season one, despite all the references to season 2. Either way I love this essay, it means so much to me and reflects my fears and grief of humanity beyond what I thought I could serialize. It's a gut punch to even me. And it's a perfect start to my spiritual essay duology, finishing with my next piece.

About  Elon Musk and Cyberpunk: Aesthetics VS Analogy and Allegory

When I say I was angry making AI, Arcane, and Contrarians, you can probably imagine it from the writing alone, but no matter how much--lowkey sue-able--vitriol I put into the words of this one, you could never even picture the fury. I hate this man. I hate everything he stands for--which is nothing--everything he represents, and every revolting wrinkle on his equally revolting face. The sheer audacity of him being the definition of 'Cyberpunk bad guy' and then opening his--allegedly--cocaine filled mouth to sing his deluded praises of the genre blows my fucking mind. I tried to keep it traditional essay sounding in the piece, but I don't have to here so I hope you understand how much I fucking hate this guy. And oh my God I hate him, he's such a fucking pathetic loser he makes me feel like I'm balding too. And I also hope this essay conveyed not only some of my love for the genre, but also a sufficient enough synthesis of what it is that you learned a little, and came to think of Elon as more stupid than you already rightly assumed he is :) Anyways go watch Arcane S1 and Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Blade Runner and read DADOAS? and play Stray and try to get close enough to me that one day I'll show you my 2 different Cyberpunk books I'm writing. Hell, I'll even share my 500+ page Cyberpunk collection volume with you if you ask nicely.

Our Town - Wives Tale poem 1

When I decided at 2 am of the 27th March that I wanted to try turning this concept into a poetry collection, I instantly knew I had to start with introducing the town. It's a core part of this story--a small town ruled by misogyny, that presents it's pastel-self as a paradise despite being absolutely terrible. But I didn't want to come out swinging with that, I wanted it to be more subtle. I wanted to pitch you the town how the committee would while still placing seeds of distrust. And again, the setting is Grimms fairytale, so I wanted to show as well so the scope was more understood. I feel like I've nailed an introduction to this world. Almost everything you need to know is spelled out here, just quickly. This is the first actual poem I've written in nearly 2 years, and as a start of a new collection, I'm not only beyond ecstatic, but really proud of myself--I can see all the stuff I learned writing my 3rd collection shining through here. In my mind it basically became a song, I wanted it to have rhythm and a more experimental style. If I end up recording this as a bad song, don't say I didn't warn you. And a little bit of trivia, the ending 'it's waiting' is actually the first thing I came up with, with the final stanza being the 3rd stanza I wrote during writing. The more you know.
